Planning permission for M1 access J20

Marrons Planning was instructed to lead a consultant team and successfully secured outline planning permission for an 11,000 square foot B1 office building on an unallocated site in April 2015.

The 2.22ha site comprised a single agricultural field adjacent to the M1 motorway. Although the site fell outside the development boundary for Lutterworth, it was in a sustainable location, being well connected to Lutterworth town centre and the wider Lutterworth area.

The application argued the site would help meet economic growth and employment land needs at Lutterworth in a suitable location. The economic benefits of the development were argued to outweigh the landscape impact, which was accepted by the planning authority. The success of the project was built on Marrons early and positive pre-application discussions with the local authority and local community. The development (known as ‘M1 Access’) has now been fully constructed.
